American Piano Awards' Henry Kramer - Reflections of the Natural World

from $0.00

May 7, 2026

Thursday, 7:30 pm (Reception 6:30-7:15 pm)

The Kosciuszko Foundation: 15 E 65th St, NYC

Co-presented by the American Piano Awards, this program invites us to reconnect with the natural world through sound, drawing on music that mirrors the play of light, water, and atmosphere. From the mist and moonlit terraces of Debussy to the flowing waters of Ravel and Liszt, each work reminds us of music’s power to translate nature into feeling. At the heart of the evening is the world premiere of Henry Kramer’s Dirigo (Maine Triptych)—a deeply personal set of piano pieces capturing scenes from his coastal hometown in Maine. Evoking sunrise over Trundy Point, the quiet solitude of Spurwink Graveyard, and the vitality of Pine Tree Run, Kramer offers an intimate portrait of place and memory, inviting listeners to hear the beauty of landscape transformed into sound.

The reception will include light refreshments, wine, a themed signature cocktail, and tarot readings by Magic Mama Tarot.
